I began training at a point in my life when I knew that something was missing. I have always enjoyed physical activity as an outlet for stress. I liked the way I felt calmer for about half an hour after I finished and that while exercising I was able to focus on something other than my thoughts. But after a while I would inevitably begin to feel troubled again.

My name is Thomas Dales. I started training in January of 2008 and I’m on the First Degree Training program. I had open heart surgery in 1968 when I was 18 years old. That surgery left a lot of internal scarring on my heart and chest wall. I made a full recovery and led and active life. I’ve had a leaky heart valve since childhood; it’s something that gets worse with age. The training is the hardest I’ve ever done, but it is the most invigorating also. I decided to take the Internal 3 month program to help with my breathing and circulation. I’ve been doing it about 6 weeks now and I noticed improvement in my deep breathing and blood flow to my feet. My blood pressure has also improved which is surprised my doctor. At my last visit with him he was impressed with my training and encouraged me to continue.

I started the Individualized Program 2 months ago in order to address long time neck problems resulting from an accident. For about 35 years I have had neck pain, headaches, stiff trunk and upper body. In addition, I have experienced mental confusion and depression. As I started the program I had increased dizziness and headaches. After about 2 or 3 weeks that disappeared and I began feeling lighter and clearer mentally. I have not had any significant depression (and its winter in Seattle!) and I am beginning to move freer and with less caution. I plan to keep trying the movements.

I’ve been working on the back program to increase flexibility in my back, shoulders, and hips. I don’t have any injuries, but have had flexibility problems for most of my life. So far, my left hip and legs have improved dramatically and I anticipate both sides will continue to improve quite a bit over the next few months.

The Moo Doe Program for my neck and back has completely reduced the discomfort I was having in my lower right back at the edge of the ribs. The tightness I had across my lower back has decreased. The most notable change has been in my neck. During a recent Gom practice my neck all of a sudden loosened up and within 3 days came into balance left to right. I attribute this sudden change to the weekly practice of the neck and back Moo Doe Program movements over the last four months.

I was diagnosed with acid reflux disease 5-6 years ago. My symptoms of clearing my throat constantly, nausea, and my throat closing continued to worsen through the years. Even stressful situations were beginning to effect and worsen the symptoms. I heard about the programs and asked if acid reflux could be addressed. I was told I would be doing pressure points and movements, along with drinking a special tea 3-4 times a day. After a month I felt 75% better, all symptoms had improved greatly. I can say after being on the program the past 3 months, I feel better than I have in 5 years regarding my symptoms.
